On some days the teaching team organises simulation trainings, especially for the younger doctors together with the nurses. Everybody in the group gets a role to play while the leader of the simulation explains the emergency we are in. Afterwards a feedback round is taking place. The younger doctors, nurses and experienced consultants discuss the decisions each role was taking, what went well and how to overcome difficulties. Later everybody is free to ask further questions. This time it was about the resuscitation of a 27 weeker at the delivery room, who was in need of intubation at some point. At the end of the simulation training everybody got the chance to practice intubation on the little plastic baby, even me :-) This was one of my favourite trainings, as it was quite hands on and perfect for students as well.
